2017 Discover Sailing Public Open Day Between 11am to 4pm on Sunday 15 October come and visit Albert Sailing Club on northern end of Albert Park Lake. For people of all ages from 4 year old to seniors, and all ages between. Register for this free (no cost) activity using the Register link below. Late Registrations on the day possible.
What happens on the Day ? * Club members will take people for a sail in a club training boat on Albert Park Lake. Option of solo sail for any adults who have sailed before and for juniors, subject to weather conditions. Busiest activity period usually up until 1pm including specific activities for juniors. Members on hand to discuss Learn to Sail courses, with next commencing on Sunday 29 October. Also information on volunteer roles, membership options, buying a boat, and a tour of club facilities.
When not sailing relax and enjoy some of the best views in Melbourne from the club's decking overlooking Albert Park Lake or take a walk around the Lake. Car parking at rear for $2.60 all or part day. Best access is via Steel Gates on corner Clarendon Street and Albert Road. Road closures till 10.45/11am due to Melbourne Marathon running event. Can also park 150 metres or so away in service lane of Albert Road at no cost, no morning road closure. Come by tram via route 12 tram from City to Clarendon Street/Albert Road or a St Kilda Road tram to Domain interchange stop. Or ride in by bike.
